Message from the Chief about CVFD
The Coatesville Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) is a volunteer fire department serving the Town of Coatesville and Clay Township in Hendricks County Indiana. The fire department hosts many events during the year including a freewill offering breakfast in March and Chili with Santa in December to name just a few.
The CVFD, known as company 161 (formerly known as company 61), is comprised of one firehouse that is located in downtown Coatesville at 8098 Main Street. Coatesville is part of the Mill Creek Fire District which also includes the towns of Amo and Stilesville, Indiana. Coatesville operates one fire engine, a grass truck, an ambulance and one tanker.
CVFD is a dedicated group of volunteers who remain on call 24/7 and respond at a moment's notice. CVFD is always looking for responsible, passionate and dedicated personnel that would like to volunteer in fire service and get involved with the department and their community. There are training and time commitments required to bring new trainees up to the appropriate training level and title of firefighter, but it is very satisfying and rewarding. If interested or you would like more information, you can go to our "Become a Volunteer" page or just click here.
